Meet Our Team

Lead Pastor, Stuart Starr

My wife Carolyn and I moved in to Oran Park on 30th January 2011 after having spent the previous 6 years in Wollongong. We’re excited to come to a new suburb full of opportunity, new friends and new challenges. I grew up in a home where we were taught to say our prayers, give thanks for every meal and were taken to church each week. It was a great foundation but it wasn’t until I was in High School that I was challenged to consider whether I was in a relationship with Jesus or merely practicing a religion. I made the decision to trust and follow Jesus at that time and have been enjoying the journey of figuring out all that this commitment means since then. I worked for a Dutch company called Philips in their Lighting division as a sales rep and then sales manager for their OEM and Specialised Lamps business. I’m excited about the possibility of being a part of God’s plan to put a vibrant community of Christian men, women and children at the heart of a growing suburb with the chance to influence the whole community. I love seeing new life come into a home and hope catch fire in people’s hearts. In my spare time I love hanging out with my family, landscape photography and riding my road bike for fitness and enjoyment.

Kids', Youth, & Families Pastor, Michael Mak

I was born in Hong Kong and grew up in the Sutherland Shire. Before moving to Oran Park Anglican in early 2017, I have ministered in Sylvania, Windsor, Oatley and Gymea. I’m currently single – I also have a younger sister who is currently studying in university. I attended youth group with my school friends when I was in high school. It was during that time I was challenged that as a sinner I needed Jesus and he has died on the cross to take my sin away. I gave my life to Jesus when I was in year 12. I was at university studying for a Bachelor of Computer Science. During my second year in university, God has challenged me to think about serving Him for the rest of my life. I love working with children and youth and I am passionate about giving the message of new life of Jesus and helping them to live the new life for Jesus. I am excited about the opportunity of serving God in the vibrant and growing community of Oran Park and surrounds and getting to know the families here. In my spare time, I enjoy finding out more about aviation (I’m a plane geek), listening to Air Traffic Control, hanging out with friends as well as travelling.
